Are you still using the stock Sig grips that came with your pistol?
I didn't start this thread to bash Sig "P" pistols. However, I have replaced every Sig that I own with 3rd party (Hogue) grips.
P220 - Hogue G10 Extreme
P226 - Hogue AL
P239 - Hogue G10 Extreme
Even on my P220 Equinox which came with gorgeous black diamond wood grips, I replaced with Hogue. The stock grips on all my Sig pistols did not ever work for me because of the slippery feel it afforded me. Yes, I would say that I am hooked on Hogue, however, this is not the case with my Beretta or CZ firearms which still utilize the stock grips.

Got too agree, Hogue grips are a definite upgrade. Moved from rubber overmold grips to G-10 extreme. What an improvement, two thumbs up.

for ergonomic consideration and my personal preference for the older w german/german P series pistols, the original OEM black checkered plastic grips that the pistols wore from the factory are gtg; YMMV.

these checkered Pau Ferro Hogues came free along with a TLR-2 light laser combo all new in boxes on this P226R with night sights for $670 from a GB auction I won a few years ago :D

can't say whether I would have dropped a bill for them over the stock textured plastic.. but they are are purty and secure while comfortable..

E2 on my 229
Stock on my 239

Whatever works for you, go with it.

I typically swap out the grips with Crimson Trace laser grips whenever possible. Especially when the stock grips are nice wood grips - I'd rather leave those in the box and keep them looking brand new.

All of my P226 still have the factory grips (Black, OD Green and FDE).
P229s have stock grips and Rosewood grips.
P220 have Rosewood grips to compliment the beauty of all stainless finish.

My 1988 JJ P226 still has the original grips. My 2009 P225 safe-queen also has original grips, but I'm keeping her all original and unfired. My other six SIGs (P220ST, P225, P229, P229R, P239, P239) all have Hogue grips of some sort.

226 extreme came with factory G10 grips
M11A1 (228) has factory grips which are fine for me

These would look great on any SIG Sauer.

I had originally replaced my P220 with some Cocobolo NRA grips (didn't realize they were marked "Law Enforcement" when I bought 'em)

I later switched to the hogue grips with finger grooves and haven't switched back.

I picked up a P220 10MM and it has the G10 grips. It feels night and day better than my P220 45 with the plastic grips. Ordered a set of G10's for the 45 that arrive today. The plastic grips are really slippery (especially when carried for years) and just feel a bit too narrow.

Everyone's hands are different. The stock grips on my MK25 were great, and I had over moulded hogue grips on my w.German P226.

I tried the E2 grip on both my P228 and P226, end up changing back to the original grip. The texture of the E2 is great but not so much on the shape. I find that I can shoot better with original grip on. So far still can't justify the Hogue G10 grip, but may try it on my P228 to see how it works.

Note P226 actually has 4 variation of factory grip: Original checkered plastic, smooth texture, slightly rough texture like P228/P228 2pc grip, than finally the E2 grip. The smooth texture grip was the worst among them.

Whatever gives you tightest groups, and helps you get thru 400+ rds a day go with that.
If you end up with a drawer full of grips, so be it.
