KEEP CALLING THE CAPITOL!

The latest from the California State Capitol is that your calls, letters, emails, and faxes are working. Please do not let up now!

The enemies of freedom are having a difficult time getting at least two anti-gun bills out of a necessary committee today. We are told that, as it currently stands, AB2062 (Ammunition Sales Restrictions) and AB2235 (Conventional Handgun Ban / "smart" gun bill) are both failing to get enough support to pass out the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Three California Anti-Gun Bills Could Be Considered Tomorrow!
Please Contact the Members of the Senate Appropriations Committee Today!

Three anti-gun bills have been placed in the suspense file due to cost constraints, however they could possibly be resurrected during a special Senate Appropriations Committee hearing scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, August 7.

Assembly Bill 2062 would require an individual to possess a license to purchase ammunition, require vendors to keep a detailed record of the transaction, and simply ban mail or internet ammunition orders.

Assembly Bill 2235 would ban the sale of handguns other than "owner-authorized (or "smart") handguns" -- that is, handguns with a permanent, programmable biometric feature that renders the firearm useless unless activated by an authorized user.

Assembly Bill 2948 would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace.

Please contact the members of the Senate Appropriations Committee and respectfully urge them to oppose these anti-freedom measures. Contact information for the Senate Appropriations Committee is below.

RE: AB2062 & AB2235

The Senate Appropriations Committee adjourned today after taking-up the "Suspense File" of assembly bills.

Senate staff has confirmed that this was the last Senate Appropriations Committee hearing for this legislative session. Per Senate rules, these bills (and all others failing to pass out of committee) cannot be considered for the remainder of this legislative session.

However, we should continue to keep-up-the-pressure on the legislature, so they won't be inclined to grant special "rule waivers" that would allow special reconsideration of these failed legislative attempts.

GREAT JOB! You have all performed a fantastic service for all of us, in defense of the Second Amendment.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! Yeah! :D

Back to reality...we gotta get ready for the next anti-gun round. This is only a reprieve. Hopefully that incorporation stuff will come around and assist us before they try to yank more of our 2A away.

Even when it does, there will still be bad bills coming out of our legislature that will still require fighting. Better to stop 'em there then a whole long process of court decisions.

What happened to the Cow Palace bill?

I got unlimited cell phone minutes:D

After I made my call, I loaned my phone and your list to a friend and told him to call away.

When I called the Dem's, I told them I was a government worker and that I was concerned about the budget and that I really wish they wouldn't screw around with bills that would create massive civil lawsuits that would jeopardize funds for people like me.

I was torn between saying and not saying that if those gun bills passed, that John McCain would win the presidency and working families would suffer.:43:

Easy defense of our rights, get to tie up a anti gunners staffer for a few minutes, let them feel some pain.

More of you should join in the fun. Gets their attention more than e mails.

What happened to the Cow Palace bill?

This just came via email to me this afternoon from the NRA.

Gun Show Ban Legislation Heads to Senate Floor in California!
Please Contact Your State Senator Today!

As we reported, three anti-gun bills were placed in the Senate Appropriations Committee’s suspense file due to cost constraints. Fortunately, two of the three (Assembly Bill 2062 and Assembly Bill 2235) failed in yesterday’s hearing.

However, the fight is far from over. Assembly Bill 2948 was passed out of the Committee and now heads to the Senate floor. AB2948 would prohibit the sale of firearms and ammunition on the property or inside the buildings that comprise the Cow Palace. Simply put, this bill is a stepping-stone to banning all gun shows in the Golden State and it must be stopped.

Please contact your State Senator TODAY and respectfully urge him or her to oppose AB2948 when it comes before them for a vote.
