For some time now, I've been all over the net looking for a similar full lenth rail for my 870. I found out that the people who make them are no longer! and I forgot the name. Any Ideas who may have or sales this cool looking rail?
Thanks.

Can't help you on the rail question, sorry. However, by looking at the thing, I'd have to guess that the rail makes it a pain in the butt to clean(cuz you have to take it off to remove the barrel) and most likely looses the zero every cleaning, too, for the same reason. Of course, that might not be important with shot, but would be an issue with slugs.

It does look pretty cool, though.

thats not really a full length rail for a gun in CA, that thing is a shorty. Have you seen a full length on an 18 inch? But no, no clue who made it.

There are picatinny rail blanks being sold in long lengths.

IIRC think there was a machinist on weaponeer that made a bunch of rail blanks for a reasonable cost.

You can just do a google search on "picatinny rail blank" and look through the various results for something that may work.

I thought some blanks were available on Brownells, but my short search there, didn't turn up anything....

The rail youre talking about is made by Beeson over at S&J Hardware in Canada. His company, along with One Shot Tactical (also in Canada) and Tactical Shottgunner (here in the states) sell them either for the Brobee adapter or the Mesa adapter. It is however only 22" long and typically made for SBS's.

The above pic is it with one of my 870's. The picture below is Beeson and his 870.

I was thinking of going with a blank rail but the front barrel mount might be an issue.

Does Beeson do tactical stuff with the gun, or...??

As far as disturbing your zero /removing your barrel for cleaning... You can alwaze clean it in place.

Why do you have to clean a shotgun?

OMG I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that while I try to sleep tonight.....I feel the chills comming on!!!

-I maybe into guns, but I am still a girl and I like, scratch that, NEED my guns to be clean. Its not always practicle, or needed....but obsessions rarely are.

I clean my benelli once a year, every January.
That gives it time to get dirty again before SMM3G.

Shotguns only stop working right before they need to be cleaned and right after you clean them.

I've got one of those rails on my 500 with the Sidewinder kit...
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=94944

I call it my ZB500 (Zombie Blaster 500)... mostly because that's all it really good for... FICTIONAL Zombie battles... LOL. It's really too heavy to be practical.

So I'll give you this advise before you start adding all kinds of tacticool stuff to your shotgun... be sure to at least have one plain jane unmodified Shotgun you can rely on if need be.

Don't get me wrong though. I love my ZB500 and it's lots of fun to shoot, but weighing in at 10lbs it wouldn't be my first choice for HD... that's what my stock 500 with 18" barrel is for

On a side note I wish I would have seen that Tacticalshotgunner had the rails. I bought mine from OneShotTactical and paid alot more for it, but oh well.. I'm happy with it

:D
