it wasn't within NP boundaries, it started in the Sierra NF about 20 miles west of the NP

I seem to remember maybe ten years ago that there was a bad fire around here caused by the muzzle flash from a deputy's gun while he was plinking in the desert.

Just shows that we must take great care during fire risk season (which, around here, seems to be almost all year long these days).
