Fellow Calgunners-

I am looking for suggestions for a low profile BUIS to fit under my ACOG. I like the Troy and GG&G MAD sights but I'm wondering if there's other options out there.

Also, any info on the Magpul BUIS? I know they won't be out till the end of the year and they will be <$100 for the set, but that's all the info I have on them.

I've been looking for one myself for under an ACOG. One here might be what you're looking for. They have a few different types ranging between $120 - $140

My preference (in order)
Troy>KAC 600m>GG&G>ARMS 40L>Matech>MI

I'm not an ACOG person, but for traditional magnified scopes in typical AR height mounts (around 1.4-1.5" centerline), the Troy and below are the best bet for fit. The ARMS 40L, at 0.61" tall, won't fit under many scope/mount combos. This is one reason the Troy is so popular, though the MI MCTAR-SPLP appears to be a strong contender. The KAC is lowest, but not as flexible as the Troy or MI SPLP.

Here are some popular BUIS heights:

ARMS 40 - 0.950" folded (mine is 1.00" even)
YHM-9680 - 0.840" folded (mine is 0.850")
Matech - 0.75" folded
MI ERS - 0.750" folded
GG&G MAD - 0.625" folded
ARMS 40L - 0.610" folded
Troy - 0.460" folded
MI MCTAR-SPLP - .4375" folded
KAC 300m - 0.315" folded

I use an ARMS 40L-SP. It fits great under my TA31DOC.

Had an ARMS 40L but it wasn't low enough and wouldn't clear my scope so went wit ha Troy which worked very well.

KAC 300M. Lowest that you can get.
