I'm of the opinion that all rifles deserve wood furniture. Probably why I have a hard time warming to the AR series. Just feels off. Anyway, I tracked down a NOS wood carry handle for my 1919 and picked up a wood charging handle from Iron Creations. IMHO, it's much nicer now.:)

Nice, am contemplating the same thing with my a4, but spade grips and charging handle as opposed to your setup..... very nice though.

Thanks. Thinking about tracking down a decent deal on 1917A1 wood handled pistol grip as well.

The charging handle is $46. Carry handles seem to run $40~$75 depending on what you find.

Thanks. I'm really happy with it. It shoots great too which is always the true measure. :)

I've gotten a few comments about adding an A6 flash hider for a true A6 look. I'd have to find a way to reduce the plug as I'm not aware of any A6 hider being made for 308, only 30-06. I could drill holes in the top and bottom to make it into a legal muzzle brake versus a flash hider and still maintain the look.

Something worth poking around at I guess. I'm sure the creative folks out there have pulled this one off already.

Al's Custom used to have them but I don't see them on their web page anymore. They're imported from the Czech Republic, are walnut and have very nice figure (at least the one I have does).

Now if only someone who is a readily available vendor will sell a pistol grip & handguard for the AR out of wood....
