So a friend of mine decided that his Marlin 60 .22 did not get enough attention. He purchased the rifle around 14 years ago and works, and when he does not work, he relaxes. I basically got a free rifle. It had a wooden stock and had a heavy layer of dust. I sanded the stock and painted it desert tan, added a 4x32 BSA scope, oiled thoroughly, placed in a nice hard case. The only thing I dislike about this rifle is the fact that the rounds are loaded into a tube. Oh well, makes a good plinking rifle and squirrel shooter. Here is a picture of the finished product.

Looks nice!

I've shot the 60 a few times and always enjoyed it, good color choice too.

Time to stock up on .22!

Look into a model 70. It's the same gun, but magazine-fed. Somewhere I have an old fed pre-ban 15rd mag for it even.

It's a fun little gun.

Marlin (or Glenfield) Model 60's are great little rifles.
Here's my Glenfield with the original Glenfield scope.

There have been people that have converted the model 60 tube fed into magazine fed. Personally I think 14 is better than 10:)

14 is definitely better than 10. However, 18+1 is much, much, better than 10;).

Looks great. Good job on keeping the original aspect of it. I guess some guns are not worth changing around, or are they?:)

I have actually grown to like the model 60 in a way. My friend got his from Manteca K-Mart back when the K-Mart was in another location, other than the Northgate location.

I have a 22 magnum bolt action marlin with the 15 round tube feed deal. Fun little gun and much cheaper to shoot than my AR's. I wanted to get a cooler stock for it maybe one with a pistol grip but cant find any for a bolt action 22 magnum marlin.
