Welcome Darrin!

Keep posting since we like seeing stuff from the free states! Read thru some of our threads and then go and thank your legislators for understanding the 2nd amendment! As far as I know, Calguns is open to anyone in any state, but it is helpful when you post your location so we know that you aren't breaking any CA laws.

Nice SKS by the way. Back in the early 90s, I bought a New Norinco Paratrooper the week I turned 18 . Cost $119.95 and I thought that was alot

I foolishly sold it a few years later when I moved to FL to go to college ($100 , I needed the $$).

Have regretted that ever since!

Welcome Darrin,
ANd yeah, it would help if you put your location in your profile so we see that you're from GA. Lots of people, good and bad, scour these boards to find if "them calgunners are making illegal assault weapons" and what not. If there's a post of a free-man's SKS with a configuration not legal in CA, and there's no location listed, it's probably assumed you're in CA and not within the law...which Calguns most certainly is. Thanks!

Make sure to show that drag stock when you get it mounted on that sks! I'm a dragunov fan myself!

None of us disagree. I think if you spent some time reading the laws on our books and what we've done to fight the "system" and comply with the law, you'd be impressed.

No one shows more ingenuity than a pissed off Californian.

Darrin: Welcome to Calguns. Like others have posted we just don't get to play with really cool stuff. We must stay within the laws handed to us captives. Let your buds know they are welcomed also. Really we don't bite too bad. LOL We just try to look out for our fellow Calgunners. Sure like your SKS my friend.

welcome aboard. its good to have others from another state become members here. Remember a lot of crap that comes from here roll over there in a matter of time so other states needs to be diligent. If we can get support from members outside our state it will always help our cause. Strenghth comes in numbers.

This thread caught me off guard first thing this morning!. I saw the SKS with the detachable mag and almost spit my cereal all over my keyboard!!, then the AR and I almost fainted. Once I saw he was from a free state I just laughed at my own knee-jerk reaction. Darrin, welcome. I think your pics are like a guest visiting a prison showing naked pics of his super hot girlfreind to the horny prisoners!!!!. Enjoy your freedom and fight to keep it.
Here on the bottom is my yugo SKS with russian quick detachable side rail scope, the ONLY way to mount a scope on an SKS, period.

there are many types of magazine locks. one type is almost invisible for the ak, the mag release just wont move and you have to load from the top. that will allow "evil features" to be used, such as pistol grips ect.

or, fill in the gas system and make it a "bolt action". if its not a semi then banned features dont count.

its sometimes hard to tell what is or isnt on a rifle(or whats functional) just by looks. a good way to start to understand the dumb laws here is to study the 'ca-aw id flowchart' (link is up at the top of this page, next to the sponsors button).

welcome to the board.

Darrin, my AK was purchased by me way back in '88 before the ban. I love to take it to the range and blast away and change my 30 round clips....just waiting for some dingbat to challenge me (again). I always keep a copy of my registration in my pistolgrip. We lost our freedom in I believe 1990. Glad I bought when I did, just wish I had bought more!!. The important thing is that since the assault weapons ban, crime in california is a thing of the past:43:.

First, welcome to calguns. Now, why do you want a muzzle brake? If I were you, I'd try shooting it without one first. Whatever you do, don't get a twist on one! They can untwist while shooting and make things very dangerous. Also, what kind of stock is on the SKS right now? Is it painted wood or colored plastic? Are you planning on selling it? Does your Tec-9 actually work? I had a Tec-22 that was the biggest POS. The last time I tried to fire it, the top of the action would flip up every shot!

fixed 10 round mag via a mag lock. It's a 10/30 mag or a registered AW. Oh the AK receiver is not on the list. California bans by make & model only. So UZI is banned but IZU is not as long as the evil features are addressed. Stupid laws but welcome to the forum.

Whereabouts in GA are you from? I used to live in ATL (across the street from Brookhaven MARTA station). Miss the Southern hospitality.:D:)

Only the IMI Uzi is banned by name, any other manufacterer is legal.
