Your build sounds sweet, however some photo's would be nice.

What's the difference between the 2nd generation mags and the 4th generation mags?

Did I totally miss the 3rd generation, or is the bolt-hold-open feature considered 3rd generation?

Bolt hold open feature is the 3rd generation. 4th generation will be a new bolt and allow you to put 10rds in the mag instead of only 9. Jamie just told me today that they are coming. Also, they will be available in solid black and not just smoke color.

Sweet!

That means I can hold off on the spray paint. :)

Looking forward to a range report as this is about the same setup I've been looking at doing. Keep us posted!

Who else makes 22lr uppers besides Spikes?

Rim fire only requires an OAL of 26", 10rd magazine and the use of a 16" barrel. Other than that evil features are ok. No nead for a bullet button

Tactical Solutions, Model 1 Sales, Bushmaster, DPMS just to name a few. There are so many out there to choose from.

How would you rank them in terms of quality?

Honestly I have never fired any of them, im only going off of what other calgunners are saying and the consensus seems to point towards Spikes. If anyone has any good opinions and reasons for your opinions then please chime in.

It looks like the spike's dedicated .22lr is the next big thing, and it looks like I'll be getting one (hopefully, unless I get distracted).
