Does the sale of a C+R longarm between two private individuals require a PPT at an FFL? And does this apply to gunshows as well, where many private owners may be selling off their collections? It would be nice to cash n' carry, but you can't be too careful here in PRK.

Thanks for any help!

If the seller and the buyer are both California residents, and if the C&R long gun is at least 50 years old, and if the seller is only doing this kind of sale "occasional and without regularity", then no FFL is required.

Thanks for the quick reply! glad to hear that no FFL is required then.

Also has to be face-to-face, IIRC.

No, the law does not require it to be face to face.

Is the law any different for C&R handguns?

All handgun transactions, even C&R ones, must go through a 01-FFL dealer.
