What a pita the report form is, they want barrel length but I do not HAVE it, they say "put a dowel in barrel and measure"
I do not have either a dowel, a ruler or the money to buy one!
Actually I just got food stamps for the first time in my life and quite simply AM FLAT BROKE.
They also want the exact date I bought them, I have no idea, especially the older stuff I bought FTF.
I have a cheapo "Titan" .25acp it basically is a Berretta clone made in Italy no "model" name
& what "color" is a S&W 642? is it gray? silver? I put gunmetal on the form.
They are going to get the report as is, if they like they can send a DOJ agent with a ruler, dowel
and a color chart

Any idea what they are going to say? I got the darn serial number and caliber right.
I'm making a darn copy and sending it certified mail....what a bunch of garbage!

Might as well move to the hills because within 24 hours after they get your paperwork, you will see 4 or 6 black SUV's pull up to your house.

No but seriously, they will only send the form back to you saying that you are missing info.

I have no idea what you are talking about? How about some more info on what you are trying to do?

I'm sorry but, I find it hilarious that you chose the handle of gunsmith and can't answer the most basic questions about your firearms.:rofl2:

Seriously, you can use the internet to look up the spec's. of your firearms. With the model numbers and serial numbers, you should be able to research the rest of the information you need. There are usually forums for most makers of firearms. For example, the S&W 642 currently only comes in two finishes, matte and matte black. Odds are that yours is matte.

As far as the Titan goes, it is most likely made by Tanfoglia Giuseppi of Brescia Italy and imported by E.I.G. of Miami FL. This was prior to 1968. Titans made after that were made in the USA under the F.I.E. name. While Tanfoglia is still in business, several makers of this model are not. While I won't pursue it any further, more research should yield the info that you need. This should be enough to get you started. The DOJ frowns on incorrect information, even though they excel and sharing it.

The "gunsmith" handle is from ancient days of yore from before 9-11-01 when I hung out on craigslist political forum.
They kept on banning me but I kept the handle, but yes, quite ironic I know.
I am the worlds worse gunsmith ...I can hardly even clean my guns without losing a screw.

The DOJ hates you for owning a gun in the first place. Just surrender you gun to law enforcement if you don't want them to hate you. If you are like me and take udder joy in pissing them off, than keep it and fill in the forms.

BTW, the internet is a wealth of info, look up the gun and see if you can find the barrel length online... :)

BTW.. Your titan should have a barrel length of 2.48 inches

Put for make FIE and Model should be Titan..

Go with chrome for the color..

http://weirdjack.com/guns/titan.htm

I would put silver down for a color on the S&W

My question is why the hell is this in the Handgun Gallery forum?

You're on food stamps and can't afford a wooden ruler... but you're buying ammo at today's insane prices?

Tony.

seriously a wooden dowel and ruler will cost you $3 total. You might as well sell the guns since you will not have ammo for it. If you already do have ammo, sell 10rd of it and buy the dowel and ruler.

In Frisco, a dowel and ruler are probably $5, and you probably get hard time for selling ammo.

What Just Happened?

+1. This is California. The DoJ hates gun owners.

If you don't have a dowel, use a cleaning rod. You do own a cleaning rod, don't you?

if you lived near me I'd donate you a ruler and a piece of wood if you can not afford them. FIE titan .25acp's actually work fairly well, I own 2.

I am sure I can find a way to measure, etc
I was resentful at the delay as I'm house sitting and the attic I'm staying
in is warm, and I have to wait for the home owner to return because all
my stuff is in storage in Reno and I'm in SF with no car and I am unwilling to
poke around some one else's stuff without permission.
I wanted to send in the forms and now I have to wait.
I simply hate bureaucracy.

I bought ammo by the case for years, I've got plenty at 2003 prices when I was
in armed security....I even deducted it from my taxes as a business expense.

I love the little Titan, it doesn't have that annoying mag disconnect that to many modern guns have and conceals real good. Fairly accurate to boot, no problem with man sized
targets at 15 yards.

I am making a tidy profit on my LCP!

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, I am new to using cal-guns, I thought this was handgun discussion.

As far as food stamps, believe me, it aint fun & I won't do it for long.
I hate selling my guns, and all I'm doing is paying off some poor business decisions.

Thanks for all the help, returning to SF has been a mixed blessing, I like the food and all the cute gals but can't stand the gun laws/ Obama stickers, and that darn KOIT radio station that everyone plays.

And who the hell are you to tell him what to do with his own property? Just because he is having some financial problems, he shouldn't own a gun?

Just about all our gun control laws stem from a desire to control groups of people that some people don't like.
i.e CA law is based on Cruikshank, a SCOTUS decision that every gunny should know about and use to hammer the liberals.
NRA is suing SF because its racist/corrupt laws preven poor people (mostly black) from owning a gun in gov't housing.

As a poor person, I have more real need of a gun then the people who seek to deny me my rights (like Peratta, Brown who probably have armed police escorts)

Gunsmith: It appears that no one has mentioned " Welcome " to the forum. Just take your time and do the documents correctly and don't worry about what a lot of people blog on this thread.
