Any idea if and when we might see the XD 45 with manual thumb safety hitting the California approved list?

Well, it doesn't have what the CA DOJ's idea of a loaded chamber indicator.
Or, if I recall correctly, the mag disconnect.
As far as I know, no new guns have been approved since the loaded chamber
indicator law came in to force - except for a few which were only cosmetically
different from others already on the list.
So, here's a gun with a genuine additional safety being illegal because it doesn't
have 1 (or 2) completely bogus "safety" features.

The XD pistols probably have the best loaded chamber safety of any pistols on the market. On top of the slide is a indicator that stands up that you can see and feel if it is dark. It must be because of the lack of a magazine disconnect that is keeping it off the list. Witch is a stupid idea because if it is not good enough for LE departments like the CHP why would it be good enough for everyone else.

see sticky (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=81127).
Please stop trying to understand the Roster as something intended to make sense to gun owners or buyers. That is not the point, and never was.

I can't help it. Just making the statement, and trying to figure out if this gun could ever be on the roster. In my honest opinion there will be no new guns ever added to the list again.

The new Loaded Chamber indicators must have the WORDS "LOADED GUN" Visible to the shooter.
Preferably in day glo orange one inch high

I was waiting on one and I had to cancel my order. SA says it won't be long.

The XD already has several safeties built into it ... why would you want yet another?

Because GUNS ARE UNSAFE!
They KILL PEOPLE! And PUPPIES!
That's IT -- they serve NO OTHER PURPOSE!
Golly, we at the DOJ can't understand why you guys haven't gotten that yet!
