I have seen at my local gun shop a Mossy 500 with pistol grip and compensator seemingly designed to be a door breacher. I was wondering though, are these breaching rounds legal to own, and if so where does one find them.

Yes it's perfectly legal.

Breaching rounds are encapsulated metal powder slugs. They disintegrate on impact. They are designed to eliminate bounce back which is a danger from slugs, buckshot and birdshot.

Buckshot & slugs are used but usually after some training and with protective gear.

Sportsmans guide had USGI breaching rounds for about $6.00 a box.
