Hey all, just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your advice along the way. I went into Irvington Arms today and inspected and DROS'ed my XD40 4" V10 Ported. Ian was extremely helpful and I definitely recommend IA to anyone in the Bay Area. I'll be picking up my newest edition on the 12th and can't wait to put some rounds through it. Thanks again!

Got mine from Irvington Arms recently too. Mine's a XD-9 V-10, and I am very happy with this purchase.
Thanks IA, and Ian!

Congrats on picking a fine store to buy from.

Okay, I'll pile on with the cheers for IA and Ian... I just picked up a couple new handguns yesterday from them. Picked up a Kimber Ultra CDP II and another Glock 27.

Hey Ian, tell Martin next time I come in with a multi-gun purchase you're going to give me good customer discount. ;) :D

What's next?

Next is a Remington 700 SPS in .308. My father-in-law lives in Michigan and has about 40 acres waiting for me when deer season begins. I've been out there twice just never with my own gun...can't wait!

Glad to hear people have it and like it. I actually already have a case of .40 just waiting...need to get some Federal HST and Speer Gold Dot to see what the new toy likes better for HD. It looks like cleaning could be...ummm...interesting...I do have some Break-Free CLP and a Bore Snake needing to be put to good use. I did get the gun in all black.

The camp is outside of Buckley. Who know's if it's a good season I may host a Bay Area Cal Gunners BBQ!

Good to know, I have 500 rds of reload from the Reno Gun Show, but I imagine that'll go quickly :) Nice to hear that the cheap stuff shoots well since Walmart in Milpitas (I generally shoot at Targetmasters) carries it.

good choice on the xd... don't know much about the v10 versions but i have a xd9 service and xd40 tactical that i absolutely love... oh, and they both eat everything... absolutely everything (WWB, rangers, miwall reloads, bullseye reloads, cal-ammo reloads, blazer, wolf, etc.) hope yours makes you as happy as mine do. and if you haven't already checked it out, go to www.xdtalk.com for all your xd needs as well as www.pistolgear.com when you want to start modding.

Thanks! I'm on XD Talk as well, with the same name. I had been over to the Pistol Gear site looking at non-ported .40 barrels with the intention of possibly shooting competitively in the future. I have a feeling that this purchase will lead to many more in the future!
