I got yesterday's mailing about how evil the NRA and in particular Mr. LaPierre was and had to reply to them. I hope it goes straight to Sarah's desk, dumb *****. Here's my letter:

This is about the stupidest idea you've had yet. If you are REALLY concerned with "do[ing] all that we can to keep dangerous guns out of the hands of dangerous people", then go after the courts that DON'T enforce laws to punish CRIMINALS using guns for evil purposes.

You simply don't get it do you?? It's not the GUNS that are the problem. It's the fact that the bad guys don't feel threatened by the consequences of using guns in their violent behavior. You Brady's that give equal weight to a law-abiding member of society and a CRIMINAL that does not CARE about the laws is poor representation at best and completely wrong.

I will never EVER support you or your group as long as you continue in your attempts to prevent me from being able to defend myself and my loved ones. Go get bent.

I would much rather that you join forces with the NRA to get rid of the CRIMINALS rather than taking guns away from EVERYBODY, including the good members of society, I like to include myself in that group. Start enforcing the laws that we already have and make them more conducive to preventing violence in the first place.

I suppose it still has not dawned on you that the places in this country that have the LOWEST incidences of gun-related crime are those that have fewer gun controls, and more lenient legal carry laws. Those places in the country that YOU rate the highest with the most strict gun control laws have the highest rates of violent crime, in particular with guns. Doesn't that bother you?????? Places like D.C., Chicago, LA, that have complete or near complete gun bans are the most dangerous places in the country to live. Doesn't that bother you???????

If it doesn't, then you are more stupid than I thought, and it really makes me less inclined to support you.

Good luck. I hate you.

(maybe tact isn't my strong suit!)

:cheers2:

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have gone that far. But, you know, I get so tired of their "holier than thou" attitude, that they know better than us (the law-abiding gun owners), and they are the OOOOOONNNNNLLLLYYYYY ones that are looking out for the chillllldrrruuunnnnnnn, and yet the only ones that get the benefit of the doubt are the ones that they should be pounding on, the criminals. We are not them! And I really get offended when, due to their narrow-mindedness and their liberal-elitist attitudes, in their minds I am no different from a lowly carjacker or home robber, or murdering psychopath on a college campus.

They CAN go get bent as far as I'm concerned, I'm tired of getting bent over. :chris:

I took the "get bent" to mean that you were concerned with her health and was encouraging her to stretch daily....

Great letter!

I'm not sure that trying to use logic with the Brady group is effective, though. Their logic chromosome has either never developed or was never there in the first place.

all the best,

Mike

I'm not sure I understand your letter. Are you a Brady Bunch supporter or not? Perhaps you could tell them how you really feel.

PS. "Go get bent." nearly made me spit coffee out my nose into my keyboard.

It would be a waste of time if you (and those of us lucky enough to ready it) didn't enjoy it so much.:hurray:

Ahhh hate mail. I have a complete file folder full of the stuff from readers of a magazine I was the Art Director for. Whenever I needed a laugh, I'd open the "Rant File" and read some of that stuff. Never affected me as our subscription numbers kept skyrocketing and the comments were just as loony as yours.

That said, it's refreshing to see people cast off the shackles of political correctness and tell people what they really think of them and their ideas! :)

That effort would be more effective if redirected to efforts against AB2062...

As long as you know this letter is for your benefit (for venting your anger) and that it has absolutely no meaning to them, fine. Insulting the other side certainly won't encourage them to "see the light" or consider modifying their position. I am dubious that groups like the Brady's will ever listen to reason, so perhaps insults aren't that bad of an idea. However, if I were them I would stop reading after the first few lines and trash it.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I guess some people have common sense and some paper are more challenged with it.

Oh, but I have! I've been writing (much more tactfully!) to all my reps and those around my area to encourage them to NOT vote for these crappy measures.
So far, both of the Runner's are on our side, as well as Mr. McClintock, but I'm still beating my head against the wall with Lois Capps  Brownley, Kuehl, Schwarzenegger, et al.

I'll keep writing...

This letter to the Brady's was just a reflex from the email I got from them yesterday, made me mad enough!

Are the Brady's never changing, ignorant, my way or the highway people? It would be nice to see national prestige from the news media abou CGN giving hell to the Brady's. But again, everyone has to do this. :43:

Another round of phone calls for AB2062 for me. One less law to fight in court later on.

"Dear Sir, We here at the Brady Campaign appeciate your feedback and have filed your criticism in the appropriate file. Please send a check so we may fully respond and continue in out fight of victim disarmament."
