What if you could visit a single website to more instantly ascertain whether a firearm was worthy of purchase, and would you use that ability?

I think that whether a firearm is worthy of purchase is a completely subjective determination. If you are talking about a site that objectively reviews guns and discusses their pros and cons, there are plenty of resources already out there for that.
In the end, I usually use the opinions of people I trust and my own experience with a particular gun (borrow it or rent it) before buying. If there was a website that reviewed nearly all guns available out there; number 1, that would be very difficult to do, number 2, I believe the reviewers would be subject to the same bias that other gun reviewers are subject to (influence from the manufacturer for advertising revenue and their own personal tastes). It wouldn't be any different than the other resources currently available.
Also, it seems that your last poll option is almost a non sequitur when compared with the other choices. Of COURSE it isn't necessary. That isn't in keeping with the other choices. The last option should be "I would not use it" or "it wouldn't be of any use" or something to that effect.

I agree.
Worthy based on what information? Wikipedia? Users?
I look at it this way, there is already so much mis-information out there, with a new site, who is to say if the information is valid or not.
I think you have a fine idea, maybe a little refinement is in order. Such as actual ownership of said weapon, not just "This one guy I know has one... blah blah blah"

i think it'd be kinda cool to have a "yelp or citysearch" like site that covers firearms and accessories... but anybody with a computer and google can search for opinions.

This is not to be constued as critisizm but it's called doing your own homework. There are plenty of sites that post reports, opinions, impressions and functionality results.
I don't take anyone elses opinion as gospel because what may appeal to any other person may not appeal to me and the opposite is just as valid.
I'll research the item I'm interested in, might post a question on a site if it's something that I've never delt with before. Use the search function and google it so I don't make a fool of myself. The factory websites are actually a wealth of info also.
I just used Davidsons "Gun Genie" and bought a P16-40 on line. The easiest tranaction I think I've ever made. You can compare prices from 1 dealer to the next if that's an issue. It was great. Next day delivery (depends on the time of day it's ordered) shipped right to BSP (wasn't the lowest price-you all know why it was purchased from Chris) filled out dros the next day and get it tomorrow.
I couldn't imagine an easier series of events to purchase a pistol than those listed. I need nothing that we don't already have.

Not only if a gun was worthy of purchase, but legal as well. I think that'd be a good idea.

I would definitely peruse the website, but one should know that the opinions expressed there are merely that. Opinions.
There's a paintball review website (pbreview.com) that allows users to post their experiences with paintball markers, but I hated going there. There was one useful post for every ten 'buy a better / more expensive marker', five 'it sux', and eight 'OMG!!!! its the best thing since sliced bread'.
Honestly, the only real way to see if you like a firearm is if you go to the range and put 50 rounds through it and then run it through a day of IPSC / IPDA / your action pistol sport. At least that's the way I see it.

Of course. What are you surprised about when you're talking about paintball?

ForumGuy, why can't such a forum be created here on CalGuns?

I'd use a one-stop site. There are a lot of ways you could do it, between just pulling in a bunch of online reviews to having user reviews to having someone objectively review the stuff, to anything in between.
If you need reviewers, let me know! :D

Who said anything about a forum? I totally do not mean a forum.

Well, it's kinda like that with firearms as well. A lot of people hating the Glock, a lot loving it.

Well, if not a forum, then it would be very little different than an online gun rag.

It's mainly adults talking up their firearms, with paintball I guarantee there are juveniles involved.
