Hello All,
I happened upon this Black Beauty in the May/June 2008 issue of Front Sight.
I was wondering if anyone out here on Calguns.net could give as a recommendation what they think it would cost to have one like this built.
From recommendations of who to go to, as well as out the door price I could expect to pay for something like this.
I'm completely open to suggestions.
Thanks.

Caspian Hig-Cap Race Gun... I see several things in there that will bump up the price.
I'm building my own Caspian 1911, but it's compensated, officer length slide, commander frame. Having done all the fitting work myself, it's coming out to over $2,000, not counting the cost of most of the tooling which I already owned. Having someone else build it will add to the cost.
I had some work done by Harrison Custom, and I see that he will do a full build for you. Check out http://www.louderthanwords.us for custom 1911s.

The Bar-Sto gun is $2500. That's kinda the bas gun, then you're looking at more to do the slide work and to give it a paint job.
That's not gonna be cheap. The main difficulty is getting the frame to start.

Guys, thanks a lot for the advice. Yeah, I'm looking to pay around $2500.
I've noticed SVI guns on Shootersconnection for around $2000.00 Might be worth going with a prebuilt?

I don't believe that there are any STI guns on the CA list and the only SVI gun on the list is the Infinity. There are a couple threads around here about it. The only other 2011 that you can get new is the Bar-Sto 40.
And I don't think that you can bring in bare frames. The only way to bring the frames in is with a single-shot slide under the single-shot exemption or PPT one from someone before all these rules came about.
