I debated purchasing a couple of these for my wife's 1911, but I must admit these are absolutely genius in their design.

Notice how the side channels narrow towards the feed lips and widen at the main section of the mag body allowing the rear portion of the tapered 9mm round to stagger like a double stack mag. There are 10 rounds in this mag, and the gap between the 1st and 2nd round is less than the Metalform 9 round mag that has served us flawlessly.

These mags are not your normal offering and completely superior in design to the Tripp 10 round mag with elevated follower. Someone spent a long time thinking the problem through and did not spare expenses manufacturing this mag.

There's a reason why Willson Combat mags are highly sought after... Their 1911 model 47D mag is pretty much the best 1911 mag you can buy today. This design just goes to show that they are working with all their screws in. :-)

I had a few Wilson Combat mags in .38 super (#47SX) and they didn't stand out in a good way. I had 9 round and 10 round mags and of the bunch, 10 mags total, I ran across two that would not lock the slide open properly. What the two magazines did do was cause the slide to catch onto the back of the plastic follower, which felt really cheap to me btw.
