The California Supreme court requires that I send you this letter before entering a lawsuit against the state.
I herby demand the State of California take the following acts

2. Immediate dismissal of the 10 days waiting period to buy firearms.
3. Immediate dismissal of the 50 Caliber rifle ban.
4. Immediate deletion of the DROS and CFCL system
5. Immediate Refund of any and all fees associated of items 1-4.
6. Immediate dismissal of the Scott/Aroner)(1999 FIrearm locking/ Safe bill.
7. Immediate deletion of the "Armed Prohibited Persons File" Individuals who didn't register their Assault weapons in 1991.
8. Immediate dismissal of the large-capacity magazines ban.
9. Immediate dismissal of the Handgun Safety Certificate (HSC) Program
10. Allow the sales of handguns to individuals 18 and older instead of 21 and older.
11. Immediate deletion and dismissal of the DOJ Roster of Firearm Safety Devices Certified for Sale.
12. Immediate Pardon for any one sentenced and incarcerated by the State for violation of items 1-4
13. Proclaim 6/26/2008 a State Holiday and name it GUN FREEDOM DAY

im down for freedoms and rights, but it is sure strange that we will be the first state to give rights to gays and go against the norm. and then they try to take away a right in the constitution?? wtf?? maybe follow the bill of rights the whole time and not just parts.

"You attract more flies with honey than with vinegar."
However... http://www.chrisnull.com/2007/10/can-you-catch-more-flies-with-honey.html

you need to clarify on the pardon a little. say something like for those who were convicted with no prior criminal convictions or gang affiliation. or along those lines.

Nick123, I truely appreciate your enthusiasm, but didn't see any smilies in your post, thus I infer that you are serious, so...take some time and read the posts on this board and you'll see there are folks here working on the next steps.

I hope you did not send that letter. It won't make it past the correspondence unit. Most letters don't anyway.

Uhh...that wasn't the Governor. That was the California Supreme Court. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the Gov. vetoed a couple of gay marraige bills.
But at least you're ... err....

Well, thank goodness you're not reinforcing the stereotype of the obnoxious poorly uneducated gun owner.

Dude,
I've worked in gun shops.
The back ground check is a good thing. Trust me. There are some people out there who really should not be allowed firearms...
Cheers to everything else.

Oh man... say bye bye to our gun right for sure... Schwarzenegger (or one of his staff) is going to see this damn letter and think that we are a bunch of dumbasses...
You can't just abolish the system, some of it is completely necessary, such as the background checks (and thus, the waiting periods). Plus, if we did rid our state of the BATFE and the DROS system, we'd need to put something in its place, and I didn't see any suggestions from you in your letter.
Not to mention that there were multiple grammatical and spelling errors in your letter, which makes us look like hicks...
Having said that, I applaud you standing up and saying what you felt, not many people do that these days. It's a nice kick-back to the reasons this country was founded.
