View Full Version : WTF Is Up With This Obama Guy??? Apparently He Is Begining To Believe His Own Press!
10TH AMENDMENT
06-21-2008, 10:19 PM
Is this guy serious??? Just exactly WHO the eff does this guy really think he is???
This guy is demonstrating some fairly "Audacious" hubris! Maybe we shouldn't even hold elections in November because Mr. Obama thinks the prize is already his.
Quite the "Vision Of The Anointed" he must have of himself seeing that he has unilaterally determined that he is entitled to arrogate to himself his own "special" version of the Presidential Seal well before the American electorate gives him permission to claim the real thing.
I guess in order to understand such thinking, I must have to humble myself and realize just how "Special" this guy really thinks he is.
"Audacity Of Hope" Mr Obama??? How about just plain Audacity? The contest isn't quite over yet, sir. So quit pretending it is.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., speaks during a meeting of Democratic Governors at the Chicago History Museum in Chicago Friday, June 20, 2008. A new seal debuted on Obama's podium Friday, sporting iconography used in the U.S. presidential seal, the blue background, the eagle clutching arrows on left and olive branch on right, but with symbolic differences. Instead of the Latin 'E pluribus unum' (Out of many, one), Obama's says 'Vero possumus', rough Latin for 'Yes, we can.' Instead of 'Seal of the President of the United States', Obama's Web site address is listed. And instead of a shield, Obama's eagle wears his 'O' campaign logo with a rising sun representing hope ahead.

Thanks, Crazed. I should have known that I wouldn't be the first guy to the ball on this one. I was only a couple of hours off, though. ;)
First dupe ever for me. Doesn't feel as bad as I thought it would!

Really?
Please post a pic of another bastardized "presidential seal" that was used by any candidate who was nominated by either party who was campaigning in a general election for the Presidency of the United States.
I would love to see another nominated general election candidate with the same strange conduct that this guy continually demonstrates.
I'm not saying it hasn't happened before, I'm just saying that I, personally, have not seen anything like this before, ever. So, if it has ever been done by a nominee for President before, I would really love to see some tangible evidence of what I've been missing.

Obama "seal" that Faux News sees as a presidential seal? "Yes We Can" is the translation..........nothing like E. Pluribus Unum

Great Seal of the United States:

Looks like Obama took a "generic" American Eagle, not the "presidential" eagle. It's not like he put up a banner proclaiming "Election Accomplished" or anything.
Much ado about nothing.

That has been dedicated to "Discuss gun rights and political topics" why?
This forum is dedicated to Second Amendment political topics. That doesn't mean that anything and everything about a politician who happens to have a stance on gun rights (either pro- or anti-) fits in here.
I don't see the big deal with a presidential candidate making a campaign logo that looks kinda like the presidential seal. Candidates have been saying "I will be the next president" for a long, long time. I can see why this could offend you and I'm not trying to say that you're wrong to be offended by it; I just don't personally think it's a big deal.
But in any case, whether his campaign logo offends you or not doesn't have anything to do with Second Amendment rights, politics or laws. This belongs in the off-topic forum IMHO.

I got no beef with that at all. If you are a mod, move it there if you want to. Hell, delete it if it bothers you so much. While you're at it, if it is that important to you and will make you feel better, you can move or delete all of the inumerable other "political topic" posts that have been posted in this forum since time immemorial.
Frankly, I'm as mystified by your overt consternation about whether political topics should be posted in the "political topics" section of this board, as you are mystified about why I've pointed out an arrogant politician's attempts to insinuate himself upon the American electorate as the second coming and only hope for all mankind.

The forum is called "2nd Amend. Politics and Law", not "Second Amendment AND political topics". It's intended for discussing second amendment politics, and gun laws. This is a gun board, after all. Anything that's not directly related to guns belongs in the off-topic forum.

Put it in the "suggestions" section of this board. ;)
But I would first consult with osmily to check and ensure that your syntax is correct. :D
BTW, the regs for that title reads as follows: "Discuss gun rights and political topics here"
It's the regs that control and interpret the rule!
However, as I stated supra, I'm still mystified by the magnitude of your reaction...why are you so bothered by this?
