QUESTION ON HAND ME DOWN 10/22!!!

Hello everyone,

If I recieved a ruger 10/22 hand me down from grandfather, and was not registered, do I need to do anything. same with a12 guage. If I go to the mountains to target practice ( morally). Would there be a reason for a park ranger or someone to give me problems because i havent registered it.

Longarms (rifles/shotguns) are not registered (except AW) in CA.
Interfamilia gift of a rifle and shotgun from grandfather to grandson is legal.
No need to DROS or register with CA DOJ.

Also, a 10/22 and a shotgun are probably two of the firearms that are least likely to get you hasseled by anyone at any time.
