NEW PRICE FOR A FACE TO FACE DEAL IF YOU COME TO ME!!! 350!!!!

Hey all. I've got an xd-40 sub compact in bi-tone up for sale. Gun is in great condition. no scratches. barrel has the normal "smiley" marks on the top of it. Round count is around 1000 (just broken in ;)) I live in san luis obispo and I'd prefer a ftf deal. if you want to do the shipping route you'd have to pay the fees. Includes the case and all xd accesories that come from the factory. i also have 2 pierce mag extensions for the compact mags, although i only have the 1 factory compact mag and the extended one. I'll also throw in a bore snake. I'm looking to get $400. Thank you guys! Sorry for cell phone pics.

If you'd be willing to PPT anywhere between Torrance and Santa Monica, consider it sold.

I agree it's a great deal. Unfortunatly gas is so expensive that two trips to SLO kills the deal.

I thought PPT needed to be in person? no?

timmerk

PPT does need to be in person. IIRC, it would have to be FFL to FFL and all the normal costs would be incurred.

I can't believe it either! These are great guns... I love my .45.

If it was only one trip, I'd be tempted to drive up there and buy it at this price.

here here, would do the same if only one trip, but the gas pretty much makes it a new gun cost. Free bump for a great deal

Agreed. If you were in northern CA, you'd already have my money. Unfortunatly two trips down south does kill the deal.

+1. Gas alone for two trips would cost me $160. Plus the two 8hr round trips kills it.

Too bad this was not posted about a month ago as i just bought a XD-9. Its tempting to buy this one as i am semi local to you but really have no use for a second one other than sitting in the safe with everything else :) Anyways a free bump for you.

why couldnt the buyer just pick it up and take it to his local FFL and process the paperwork there?

The guy i buy my stuff from said we could try, and see what happens with a pistol i was looking at.

he just warned me if anything popped up they (DOJ) would take it.

Had some idea as to what we could put in the buyers section.

Or

seller moved to Nevada and you picked it up there and brought it back??

Because the seller has to be present and sign and do the thumbprint thing with the buyer on a PPT.

If you'd like to take a scenic drive down to Bright Spot Pawn in the morning, I'll be happy to take this little beauty off of your hands... :D:D:D

Not helpful :(

Helpful :)

Sorry for the noob statement but i have never had the need to do a PPT so i didn't know you had to do a thumbprint. I thought the buyer did just for the background check.

Not to beat a deadhorse, but whats to stop you from saying you did get it out of state from a private party and submit the paperwork and the $19?

I don't know about you, but the thought of being Bubba's new wife for a couple of years stops me.

But that doesnt explain whats illegal

As i understand it you can have an unregistered pistol in your possession. But, if you use it in the commission of a crime it is an automatic felony. Right?

Isn't the whole purpose of the FFL handling everything to ensure you are qualified to own a handgun, ie HSC, dros, etc?

If you brought in a handgun from out of state from a move or relative etc, or decided to register one of your unregistered firearms and you submit the forms and money,if they determine the gun is not cal legal or your do not have the proper things in line they state the fire arm will have to be surrendered.

I know its not by the letter cause you are to go thru a FFL, but if you did it what are you really breaking? You are getting the firearm registered? and it is not listed in the commission of a crime( at least you hope).

Just trying to get a better understanding of all these crazy laws and regs there seem to be, from some of you Vets of the board.

Helpfull... I was saying that what you were saying is illegal. PPTs must have both parties present and requires a thumb print... as stated.;)

xdgregg

But this gun IS registered to brandonml... and what happens when they go and ask him about the deal? ... and... he'd have to be crazy to go for this deal in the first place... one of the things the PPT does is relieve the previous registered owner from any responsibilty related to this gun.

Thank you.

I pretty much barely understood the whole process and i was hoping someone would explain in more detail.

I didn't even think about that aspect of it.

I just thought they ran a check to see if the firearm was clear and that the purchaser was entitled to own said firearm.

So its basically a "title" transfer.

Well that makes sense now why the rules and regs are so convoluted, they have based them off of DMV stuff.

Where is your nearest FFL? I used Professionals Choice a few times but they are no longer bussiness. I can't believe I am even asking but is very tempting for the price. We will be camping at Pismo Dunes till thurs.

i actually live in atascadero where professionals choice used to be. there is another ffl here and also a few in san luis obispo. id be willing to drive down there to do the deal if its more convenient for you.
