I guess you saw what you saw but that's very hard to believe. I've never seen a new G17 go for that price let alone at one of the most overpriced shops in the area.

Are you certain it's not used? IMO, Reed's would probably still sell a used G17 for more than $417.

I don't know...Reed's is closing in a few months. Perhaps they're trying to get rid of some of their old stock?

Might have to leave work a little early and check this out?! :)

They are closing house so to speak.

Hunting apparell alllllll 50% off.

Danner Boots and such 50% off.

They have a couple of New hunting rifles and handguns with a red tag all new. The red tag ones are being sold cheap. The Glock is in their clearance case and it says New $419 dollars. Last month they had a 8 shot performance center 357mag in a snub nose normally over $1200 for $879 or so, I drolled over this one too.

The last month I have been going at least once a week and go case by case to look for the red tags see if any Nighthawks have those red tags, thus far not yet. This is how I noticed the G17.

Close out sale was my other guess but as far as guns, they are just moving stock to their Santa Clara location so I didn't think those were included. I'm guessing Glocks and other rifles are the furthest discounts go w/ Kimbers, SA's etc staying the same.

Was this at their san jose location or their range in santa clara? 3rd gen or older?

Wow 419 I might just buy it even though I really want a 19 or 26 model.

This is in the San Jose location on Alum Rock.

It is the 3rd gen. With finger groves.

I'd take a Glock 17 for $419:). If I was nearby I'd be there.

Jesus, you'd be stupid not to buy it! You could sell it for a $100 profit after dross! Get back there and get it.

Went by there after work today. It was not a new G17, it was pre-owned. It was also not $419, it was $429.

Nothing exciting going on.

How do you come up with the $100 profit? I'm guessing this would be $485-490 OTD. Selling it as a NIB PPT would be right in line with other FFLs selling these at at a normal price of $490-510. Unless you live right next to the shop your gas and time would put you in the red considering 3 trips for both sales.
It's a good deal on a brand new $500 gun though.

New? I don't think so, I have seen so many guns advertised as new.

Why do you think some gun shops don't let you break them down?

It wouldn't be close to $485 otd unless there is some extra tax on guns that I do not know about. I would say $455 MAX, although he didn't state if it was on consignment or not. You could easily sell this gun for $520-550 if it truly is BNIB, (atleast that's the average price I've seen them go for)

And you don't have to PPT it at the same spot you bought it from, that can't be the only gun shop in the area can it?
