View Full Version : Wife finisnhed her first 80% build this week

She asked me about a year ago if I thought she could build her own AR15.
I said yes if she would do the milling and everything it takes to build one.
I set the mill up for her and let her do all the milling while I watched.
Anyway here's a picture of her first AR.

She bought most of the parts from Ares Armor.

Wow, I'm kind of jealous. I think an 80% build needs to be in my future. haha

Sweet AR, I built you myself also last year and it Rock's...I let my wife shoot it for the first time this last weekend at Burro canyon range...Anyways have fun with it

I never been into %80 but after I saw this one I will start %80 builds.

Awesome job on the wifey's work! How long did it take using this jig and did you use a hand drill, or a drill press for the holes?

She used a drill press to do the plunging, trigger pin, hammer pin and safety holes. That took about 20 minutes. (680 RPM's)
The milling took her about 1.5 hours.

We live in commieforina. When we go to our place in Nevada the bullet button comes out and 30 round mags go in.
