I ordered a ACOG TA31TRD (http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-acog-dual-illum-w-tj-reddot-sight-ta31trd.html) 1244.78 (UPS 2nd Day Air) but its back ordered for 6 to 8 weeks.

Optics Planet offered me a ACOG 4x32 ECOS Scope TA31-ECOS (http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-acog-4x32-ecos-dual-illum-scope-ta31-ecos.html) for $1399.00 for my inconvenience.

Considering the profile of my Noveske I'm wondering which ACOG would be the best choice.

Well, depends on what you want.

Do you want your ACOG in Dark Earth Brown and with an ARMS mount and an 7MOA red dot?

Or do you want it Black with a standard mount and an 8MOA red dot?

I bought the TA31DOC myself.

I don't really care about the color. How do you like the TA31DOC?

Eye relief is terrible on the TA31 series

I am completely lost in the options. Any education or advice with the ACOG's is greatly appreciated. Ill be using this gun for coyote & rabbit mostly.

My local dealers are dry (haven't checked Ade's yet) I guess I can get some hands on at the gun show this weekend.

It is short, but I wouldn't call it terrible. For 5.56/.223 it's not too bad, but I definitely wouldn't want to use a TA31 series on a 7.62/.308 rifle.

I love the TA11s. Much easier for me to use with the longer eye relief. I had a TA01 before and couldn't stand it.
I have a TA11F right now on one AR and am going to pick up my TA11 with the donut reticle at the post office when they open in a while. :)

If you shoot nose to charging handle then the short eye relief won't be a dig deal but I can't shoot like that. I feel too cramped so the 4 power Acgos are out for me.

I ordered all of these ACOGs at my shop just to figure out which one I like. I do like the TA11F over the TA31F for the reason these guys said...eye relief.

However, the TA31 is smaller and the TA11 is larger. The TA31 is 4X and the TA11 is 3.5X.

I think you will get over the short eye relief on the TA31, but you might not be able to have any kind of rear sight in order to get the optic all the way to the rear of the rifle.

If you want black, wait. If you don't mind green, give it a try.

I'm still struggling for a scope or aiming device for my Noveske N4 Light Carbine, Low Profile. I tried a Trijicon Red Dot Sight TA31TRD, the eye relief just doesn't work for me. I just bought a Simmons Whitetail Classic Rifle (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=746570#enalarge) last night. I bought it for a 10/22 I'm building up but I might give it a try on my Noveske.

10%, I think I might order a TA11F from Optics Planet - They have a great return policy. Any suggestions on a specific model for my Low Profile?

Isn't an TA11F a TA11F? Or do they make one with a Doctor on top?

check out liberty optics on this forum. He gave me a killer deal on a TA01 that couldn't be beat. I think he has the TA11 in stock but I am not 100% sure. Either way he is a great guy to deal with.

10%, I haven't seen any Doc's on this series.
TA11F (http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-ta11f-acog-35x35-rifle-scope-red-chevron-bac-223.html)
TA11F-A (http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-ta11f-acog-35x35-rifle-scope-red-chevron-bac-223-flattop-reticle.html)

hoffman, I'll check out liberty optics, thanks.

What do you guys think about the Simmons scope?

Another option for the ACOG you might look at is the TA338 (Amber Chevron) or the TA338R8 (Red Chevron). These are the "Compact" ACOGs and are 3x magnification. They have great eye relief and come with a flat top mount, and cost less than the 3.5x or 4x models.

I've purchased 3 of them in the last month or so, 2 for calgunners, 1 for me after seeing how nice they are. Mine will be going on my Sig 556 this evening. I'll try to remember to make some time to take some pics.

A TA31DOC is on my buy list. I am curious about the eye relief, but my understanding is people who have them I have read, love them. If Triji makes another acog with a DOC mount on top, I would be interested too. I understood that they did make a bracket of sorts for mounting a DOC on ACOGs, but I never found clarification on what exact ACOGs the bracket would work with...

Anyone else notice that the acog from optics planet list price is 1000, but the sale price 1530? apprently you save 270$ by paying 530 over list price. Someone needs to put down the pipe over there.

From Trijicon.com -> Products -> RedDot -> RedDot Mounts:

MS10 DocterŽ Mount (fits TA01NSN & TA31DOC models)
MS11 DocterŽ Protective Wing Mount (fits TA01NSN & TA31DOC models)
MS12 Trijicon RedDot™ Mount (fits TA01NSN, TA31DOC Models)
MS13 Trijicon RedDot™ Protective Wing Mount (fitsTA01NSN, TA31DOC Models)
MS15 DocterŽ Mount Assembly (fits TA01, TA31, TA11 & TA55 models)
MS16 DocterŽ Protective Wing Mount Assembly (fits TA01, TA31, TA11 & TA55 models)
MS17 Trijicon RedDot™ Mount (fits TA01, TA31, TA11 & TA55 Models)
MS18 Trijicon RedDot™ Protective Wing Mount Assembly (fits TA01, TA31, TA11 & TA55 Models)

Please be aware that the Trijicon RedDot and the Docter Optic Red Dot look alike, but are not the same thing with another label. The mounts are not interchangeable. I searched for 4 months to find a weaver mount for a Docter Optic in the USA before I found one. The Trijicon weaver mount didn't hold the Docter under the recoil of a .22 handgun.

I like my TA31DOC fine, but it has to be on a Fixed mag build since the eye relief is so short I need to collapse the stock and get in close to the optic. The second one I mentioned in this thread will work fine on a featureless build with an A2 length stock.

+100

People don't get it until they've used both side by side. Everyone goes for the TA31 and TA01 off paper and because the military picks them.

But if you pick up a rifle with a TA11 and one with a TA31/01... 9/10 will pick the TA11. The extra inch of eye relief makes a gigantic difference.
