Guys,

I picked up my M1A 6.03.2008 from Ammo Bros, I am surprised at a number of things about the rifle. The build quality seems to be better than in years past. I purchased my last M1A in 2004. The forged bolt is of excellent quality it is an F pre-fix with a drawing number. The gas-piston APPEARS to be chromed, the gas-cylinder/front barrel band fit is nice and tight. The walnut stock is fat and the trigger group takes a bit of force to close on to the stock. But not excessive force.
The only thing that I was a little bummed about, was the the rifle did not come with the NM front sight blade. My rifle is in the 204XXX range. Dustin/Darren had a couple standard rifles that have the NM from sight on them, but they are in the 212xxx-214xxx serial number range.
I had not been back to Ammo Bros in a while, and was surprised to see that they had opened up the new enlarged part of the store. IT LOOKS GREAT!!!. It is full of guns, and the ammo they are putting out looks of excellent quality. They had HK pistol caliber rifles, AR 15 types, lots of Lancaster AK rifles. I even got to handle a Dragunov in 7.62x54R, romanian with a scope. It was alot of fun. Dustin gave me his usual good deal on the M1A. Anyway, good to see them doing well, USMCM16A@

NM front sights aren't that expensive. Not sure if you need it though. The standard front sight width is .084" while the NM is .065" (also available in .072"). You'll probably want both the .065" and .072" to see which one works best for you.
