I was wondering if anyone made a cylinder conversion to use center fire ammo in the Lemat black power pistol. I am not interested in the legal hoops with the shotgun part, that can remain BP.

If someone makes this, Where, How much?

Thanks guys

Have never seen any.

Might want to see if Taylor/R&D ever made them in the past. I got conversions for a set of Uberti/Pietta Remington 1858s years ago, but that would be awesome if they were available for the LeMat.

Several years ago I read about a LeMat carbine conversion. As I recall, they left the shotgun barrel precussion because of DD/AOW issues. Then they put a barrel lining in and rechambered it for 38S&W, which is as large as you can go using cylinder cap with firing pins without the rims overlapping.

The carbine conversions are very cool.

I've seen pictures of conversion cylinders but they were all custom. I don't think anybody's ever produced one commercially. It's the kind of thing you do as a prop department so you can fire blanks in movies...

I didn't think of the rim size might overlap. Looks like it is becoming more work than it would be worth. I know that it has been done as one-offs. I guess it is just too much trouble to make a production item.

Thanks
