What do you think is this a good deal from jgsales.com?
223 Silver Bear 55GR Mil-Spec in 700rd sealed tin. $179.90

That's not a bad price for 223 which usually runs in the 25-50 cent per bullet rate for good ammo. Judging by the steel casings and the really low price obviously we're talking plinking grade here (or at least good enough to get the job done). Even as far as bulk orders go the price seems pretty low.

If you put 100 of those through an AR-15 and it doesn't blow up I'd say it's at least a decent bargain.

aimsurplus sells the same ammo $119 for 500... works out to be about a cent and a half cheaper per round than the 700 round tin

I shot a good amount through my ar recently without a hitch.

At about $.26 per round, that's not bad. If you're looking for other options, I noticed ammunitiontogo.com has Silver Bear 62gr. hollow points...1000 rounds for $235...so $.23-1/2 cents per round.

Either way, I'd like to hear more opinions on the quality of this ammo as I'd consider buying it if it is decent.

I think the only hitch with this ammo (and any Com-bloc ammo) is that the bullet will attract a magnet, so if you shoot at a range that prohibits magnetic ammo it's a no-go.

nope, no magnetic at burro or angeles, or dang near all ranges for that matter.

Burro Canyon only allows magnetic ammo during the wet season.
