IMPORTANT: Oppose the Denham Recall - Saturday May 31 10AM

We need volunteers to show up at 10AM at the Denham recall opposition office at 1231 8th Street, Suite 300, Modesto, CA 95354 (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1231+8th+Street,+Suite+300,+Modesto,+CA+95354&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=43.443045,66.796875&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwloc=addr).

You'll be meeting FEDUPWBS (Jeff) there to help the anti-recall campaign. We'll be precint walking with maps and assignments handed out there. Please commit to staying out walking until 4PM or 5PM. We're working on something fun after the precinct walk.

Q: What is a precinct walk?

A: You'll be handed a map and names and addresses to walk with fellow Calgunners through a neighborhood. Your goal is to make sure that voters remember to show up on June 3 and vote no on the recall. Maps, scripts, talking points etcetera will be provided at the Campaign office.

Q: When?

A: 10AM Saturday May 31 until 4PM or 5PM that day.

Q: What's in it for me?

A: Help add to the credibility of Calguns.net. If we can consistently help campaigns for candidates that help the pro-gun community, our voice will only grow louder and stronger in Sacramento. Help us be a part of stopping the recall. This could be the most valuable 5-6 hours you give to the pro-gun cause. Also, we're trying to figure out something fun for later that evening.

Q: Any other help?

A: The campaign may be able to put you up in a hotel Saturday night if you need that. Contact FEDUPWBS or Drjonesusa via PM if you need accomdations.

Q: What should I bring?

A: Sunscreen, wear something you might wear to a nice golf course (you want to make a good impression but you are out walking in a neighborhood), comfortable shoes and a smile.

I can't personally attend as I have to babysit for an event my wife has had on the calendar since before the recall was announced. But for, I'd be there. However, I expect to have a nice surprise available for the folks who can make it that evening after the walk.

I'll update this post as we have any changes. Please post here or PM FEDUPWBS so we can get a headcount for Drjonesusa.

I really want to help the cause though. Is there gonna be some sort of phone assault on the voters leading up to the election? I would gladly cold call Modesto voters and urge them to vote no on the recall.

Just as an FYI, there is a big rally planned for TODAY, SATURDAY, in Modesto.

State Senate Leader Dave Cogdill will be there along with Ron Nehring, CA State GOP Chairman and of course, Sen. Jeff Denham.

Cogdill and Denham will also be in MERCED TOMORROW, SUNDAY for a rally and your attendance would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!

Ok, ok, I know my missing this is due to my own stupidity for not following the boards closely enough, but this is the sort of event I would have gladly moved my schedule around to support.

I'd like "Management" to reconsider broadcast emails and/or IMs when various individuals require donations of time from Calguns members to support these critical issues. Email/IM notifications would ensure that those of us who don't review every posted thread in various forums but want to be involved, have an opportunity to do so.
