Sorry, I did a search and did not find the answer. My bone head UPS guy picked up my Wilson CQB and asked if it was a firearm. He asked because he drops off ammo and such and knows about my hobby.
I was not present and my wife stated that she did not know. He stated that it must be a firearm because of the $2000.00 insurance I got on it. He said it was illegal to ship guns through UPS which I know is BS but I was not there to say otherwise. I am shiiping it back to Wilson, next day air. He obviously is an FFL but in hindsight I did not include a copy of his FFL with the package. Am I good? My only doubt is the FFL paperwork. Thanks, Sammy

I have had an issue EVERY TIME I have ever shipped a firearm through UPS. Check out UPS regs in link below. The only thing I think you didn't do properly was ship the handgun through On Call Pickup. Assuming of course you don't already have daily pickup service. Print out the link below and take it whenever you ship a firearm. Although even with this I have had trouble.
To summarize UPS Rules For Handguns:
(Long Guns Are Slightly Different)
Handguns most go Next Day Air
Must use "Adult Signature Required" service
May not label box in any way that indicates it is a firearm
Must verbally notify the UPS employee
Must only ship the package through customer counter location (not UPS store) or Daily Pickup Accounts. (not "on call pick-up")
Must ship to a FFL
Check out the link below.

Don't worry about the FFL... I think its a non issue. I have researched this and have been unable to confirm this to be a requirement on the federal level. You also will not see it listed in the UPS regs in the above link. On a side note I won't ship without a copy of the FFL in the box...

No problem. UPS has given me much grief in regards to my firearm shipments. Even with the regs in hand... I have had good luck with Fedex. One bad thing is all firearms are required to be sent overnight via Fedex. This can be pretty expensive shipping something from California to Arkansas. Especially a scattergun. Ask me how I know. :D
