I thought this would be a good place for people to post what they have done on a day to day basis, the steps they have gone through to keep politically active, and help in ensuring our Constitutional rights and freedoms are protected, and our voice is heard. We all need a little motivation now and then, and perhaps reading what others are doing may give others the motivation to help out.
I'll start, I again called the AB 2062 list of supporters and voiced my opposition.
I also again, called, and wrote my district rep Jim Silva, voicing my opposition to this bill. Tomorrow, I am making a call and writing a letter to my Congressman.

-Waiting 5 days left of my penalty period on a 870
-Waiting 8 days left of my penalty period on 2 OLL
-Have called my assemblymen to oppose 2062
-Coworkers and friends that are shooters, I have informed them of AB2062 and what it means to CA shooters and asked them to get involved.
-Shared the CA AW ID flowchart and educated many on what constitutes an AW
Unfortunately, talking usually falls on deaf ears, but if it gets even one more involved, then I have done good.

Is consumerism the same as activism? I am not sure that my visit to the local gun shop or to www.midwayusa.com qualifies as action to ensure our rights and freedoms. If that were the case, then all the founding fathers really needed to do was go on a shopping spree. Clearly, that was not the case.
Seems to me that my visit to the gun shop actually gives the government a paper trail to more property to loot when they declare it illegal. Of course, in Kansas my worries are a bit different than yours, but still - we all have the same Federal concerns...

I used my imminent danger pay, saved up while in Iraq, to buy the safe.
You could say; Uncle Sam bought my daughter a new safe.

I feel so stupid calling My state senator Donald Perata...
Except right after he got car-jacked. I called to ask why the senator was driveing a muscle car with pimp wheels when the state was sueing the US Government to have CA standards.
I was told that the car didn't have pimp wheels, and I said " all I know is what I read in the paper."
I said "I know that neighborhood; was he cruiseing for hookers? I was hung-up on.
But I never enjoyed calling my senator more.
