i was looking at the new savage 22 hornet model 40.
the new savage catalog has it listed as chambered in 22 hornet only.
some research reveals that it is a rimfire gun that was beefed up to handle the hornet.
the same research stated that the action would be okay for factory ammunition (which is nice to know), but it would not be strong enough for the 22 K hornet.
the blue book of gun values says that the original savage model 40 was a 22 hornet and was also chambered in .223
is the reaserch all wet or is the new savage rifle not built as well as the old one?
