View Full Version : SOLD: Romanian AK kit (All sold... and, I'm out of Romies)

05-19-2008, 1:42 AM
Got tuition cash (if all buyers come through...) Willing to trade for reloadable .223/.308 ammo for the remaining kit! (The boss gave me permission. :p)
Also, if the price seems a little sticker-shockish, check out what the Romy G kits are going for on Gunbroker.com ($180+) and Gunthings.com ($230.00). If I had only bought 100 more of these kits two years... ARG!

------ Romanian Kits ------
SOLD - Kit#3 : 1976
Price: $160
Description: Non-matching numbers kit (bolt, carrier, and dust cover match, though). This kit is in good condition on the exterior, with an excellent bore. Shows the nice milled metal typical of the kits from this era, though.

SOLD - Kit#1 : 1981
Price: $190
Description: This kit is in excellent condition- all parts match. The butt plate and dust cover show a little wear, but that’s about it. The bore is PRISTINE, and judging by the looks of the gas piston, bolt, and carrier it looks completely unfired. However, most of the unfired Romy kits came with paper in the bores, which this didn’t, so I can’t claim it to be unfired. Also, the stock is painted with white numbers “140”- either unit, issue, or ? This is VERY unusual. This kit would be an excellent candidate to restore back to the original “G” configuration using a internal-locking, maglock. Very pretty.

SOLD - Kit#2 : 1981
Price: $190
Description: This kit is in excellent condition- all parts match. The butt plate shows some wear, but that’s about it. Bore, gas piston, carrier, and bolt are excellent to pristine- again, a kit that was fired VERY, VERY little (Like once). Stock shows finish flaking, though. Like the previous kit, the stock is painted with white numbers “84”- either unit, issue, or ? Very unusual, again.

SOLD - Kit#4 : Home work special
Price: $100
Description: This is a partial kit which requires some additional work to get going. All part numbers match except for recoil spring. Fore grip has been cut to resemble standard AK rifles. Finish is good on this kit, and the bore is in excellent condition. Should build up well once missing parts are obtained…

Things missing from kit:
• Disconnector spring
• Gas tube and handguard
• Trigger guard/mag release

(These parts can be obtained through one of the following websites:

SOLD - 7.62x39 Crate of Yugoslavian Surplus (1120 rounds on strippers)
Price: $240
Description: This is a sealed crate of Yugoslavian surplus 7.62x39 FMJ ammunition (mildly corrosive). The ammunition is 123 GR, brass cased, and sealed in a zinc lined, wooden case. Bullet does not draw a magnet, so no steel present. This is the BEST surplus 7.62x39 I've ever shot. None of my SKS or AK rifles has ever been very accurate with Wolf, however, I do actually get some pretty decent groups from them with this stuff. Crate weighs a whopping 67lbs- shipping this would be INSANE, and I'd rather not do it.

(No pics of the crate yet, but the ammo is this stuff: http://www.samcoglobal.com/index.html. I'm cheaper than their price, you save on shipping, good deal.)
