Thanks to help from everyone here, this is my first baby. The only thing I want to add to it is an endcap for the rail, a MIAD grip, and a vertical fore grip.

Cool, I was confused.

Tell me about it, the amount of reading I did before putting this thing together was mind-numbing.

Wow, this thread got raised from the dead huh?

Yeah, I've shot it quite a bit. Probably put at least 1000 rounds through it. No jams at all. I've used some magpul Pmags and some c-products 10 rounders as well as 10/30's. No issues at all. Rifle runs great.

This is it in its current and probably final configuration.

Ditched those rail covers for some ladders. The YHM rail is pretty big and those rail covers just made it even bigger. The ladders protect my hand but keep the size of the rail down.

Added a Fenix tk10 light on a Daniel Defense offset mount. Works great with my VFG. Also have a blackhawk 3 point sling but I think I'm might switch to a single point sling because the strap kinda gets in the way of the bolt release.

Nice rifle, but while it is perhaps more functional, I miss the look of the simple and clean AR like you began with.
Still, Sweet rifle.

I know what you mean, I almost wonder if it's because of the lighting in the first pics. I'll have to replicate it to see.

The thing is, that pencil thin grip was way too small for my hand. I really like the MIAD WAY better. I might even stick a hogue slip-on to increase the width of the grip. The original covers made the rail too thick, so I switched to the lader. I also notice that in those other pictures the eotech was further forward on the rail and I kinda like that, but I think people were mentioning that the heat from the barrel might mess with it. Not sure if that's true because I'd like to actually move it forward a bit. Right now it's a little difficult to turn on and off because it's so close to my rear BUIS.

Oh, and the light and VFG. I think I might switch that VFG out for a stubby just because I like it, but I don't really hold on to it like a broom stick, I sort of use it as a placement for my hand to keep it consistent.

Anyway, there are a billion and a half ways to trick it out, I'll find the best way I suppose. :D
